Arriving to Help Our Community!!! December 4, 2011 @ 2:30 p.m.
A brightly decorated train will be traveling across the U.S. in support of local foodbanks. The Holiday Train program allows employees, customers and communities to come together to help people in need.
Each year, thousands of people gather along Canadian Pacific Railway’s route to enjoy the arrival of a brightly decorated train and watch entertainers perform a live holiday concert.
Wisconsin Dells is pleased to be a host stop for the Canadian Pacific Railway's (CPR) lighted Holiday Train and Musical Show. However this is no ordinary train! Thousands of Christmas lights, a lighted tree atop the cab and lighted wreaths on the front and back is what makes this train so special. Truly a child's Christmas wish come true! Since 1999 CPR has been raising awareness on the issue of hunger prevalent in all of our communities big and small.
Renovated boxcars contain stage lights, sound equipment & entertainers who ride along on the train. They put on an outdoor Holiday Concert - rain or snow! FREE ADMISSION! Entertainers on this train will perform at every stop they make.
No food or cash is loaded onto the train to be taken away. All proceeds and donations collected at the Wisconsin Dells stop will go to the Dells Food Pantry which benefits area residents. Donations for the event will be collected at several locations at the Train Station. Cash donations are especially appreciated, but nonperishable food items are also welcome.
The 2011 Holiday Train event will be a great opportunity to share the holiday spirit with other 
citizens and help out a less fortunate neighbor in the process. Please bring cash or non-perishable food items to the Holiday Train event. The CWCAC will also be holding a raffle for some great prizes as a way to raise money for the food pantry during the train and Santa's visit. Grand prize once again is 2 tickets to the Green Bay Packers game in December.
Raffle tickets can be purchased at the CWCAC office located at 1000 Highway 13, Wisconsin Dells, (608) 254-8353 or at the Amtrak Train Depot located at 100 La Crosse St. in downtown Wisconsin Dells.
Your $1 will buy 5 POUNDS of food!
