Calling all families – please mark your calendars for Sunday December 6, 2009, as the majestic holiday train of the Canadian Pacific Railway will make be making its third stop in Wisconsin Dells to raise food, money, and awareness for our local community food pantry. The train will arrive at approximately 3:00 p.m. but Santa will arrive at the depot at 1:00 p.m. by sleigh. He will have candy for all the children and sleigh rides will be available. CWCAC will be holding a brat cook-out and beverages will be provided by Starbuck’s. Raffle tickets are being sold and can be purchased in advance either at CWCAC or at the Amtrak train depot. Grand Prize once again is 2 Green Bay Packer tickets.
Our own local WDHS Band will be performing along with the WDHS Choir. This year's entertainers and musicians on the train include:
- Willy Porter, guitarist/singer-songwriter - a contemporary American folk musician and singer-songwriter from Mequon, Wisconsin.
- Shaun Verreault, the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter/producer for Canadian blues rock trio Wide Mouth Mason.
- Prescott who is Kaylen and Kelly Prescott, a brother and sister duo, who are third generation musicians.
- Adam Puddington, a singer/songwriter from Almonte, Ontario.
Remember: Please try to bring a non-perishable food item and don't forget to purchase your raffle ticket. Every dollar that you donate for this event will enable the purchase of 5 pounds of food at the local food bank.
